| Players collecting items from a loot drop |
Loot drops (commonly stylized as one word) are streamer-hosted giveaway events where valuable items are distributed for players to collect. These events are a popular form of interactive content among live streamers and serve both as community engagement tools and a way to boost viewership. Loot drops are typically hosted by well-known DonutSMP streamers during livestreams and they often attract large numbers of viewers and in-game participants. During these events, valuable items are placed in specific locations in a set area, allowing players to fight to collect them. Prizes commonly include rare gear, high-value items, or other valuable resources.
Although loot drops are not an official server feature, they have become a well-established part of streamer culture on DonutSMP and are widely recognized within the community.

Preparation
Before hosting a loot drop, the streamer must first gather the items that will be distributed. This is usually done through by doing a combination of purchasing valuable gear and items through the Auction House, opening Orders at set prices so viewers or sponsors can contribute items at a lower cost, or using items obtained through regular gameplay, trading, or direct viewer sponsorship. In many cases, streamers actively involve their audience in the preparation process, allowing viewers to help build the prize pool.
Other practices
In some cases, streamers hold auctions on the platform before the loot drop begins. During these auctions, viewers and participants bid on valuable items, sometimes resulting in a total amount that exceeds the item's original cost. This approach allows the streamer to generate profit while also creating additional interactive entertainment for the audience.
Placement
Streamers often choose an underwater location or another natural obstacle to prevent items from being destroyed by crystal PVP, and to make the event more secure. After placing the loot, the streamer constructs a platform above the drop zone. The platform is built above the water so that when the host activates /tpauto, players fall through the powdered snow into the water below. The streamer must wear leather boots, which allow them to stand on powdered snow without sinking, while other players fall through.
Although setups can vary depending on the host, these elements reflect common practices within the DonutSMP community.
